How Big Should My Hard Drive Be? PDF Print E-mail

As with most answers, it depends.  Do you work with thousands of digital pictures?  Hours of digital video?  Click "Read More" below to get more information.

A good rule of thumb is that 20GB wil be enough for very light computer users runnign WindowsXP.  80GB will be enough for moderate computer users.  Heavy / power computer users should consider 100-400GB hard drives depending on the intended use.

If someone is shooting a lot of digital video footage then they may need more than 1000GB of storage!
