A good rule of thumb is that 20GB wil be enough for very light computer users runnign WindowsXP. 80GB will be enough for moderate computer users. Heavy / power computer users should consider 100-400GB hard drives depending on the intended use. If someone is shooting a lot of digital video footage then they may need more than 1000GB of storage!
